Minister of External Affairs launches the ‘Foreign Policy Think Tank’ website. |

Minister of External Affairs, Prof G L Peiris, launched the website of the ‘Foreign Policy Think Tank’ on 22nd June 2010 (today) at the External Affairs Ministry.
The idea of establishing this think tank is in keeping with the vision of President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s long term foreign policy interest of the country. The website will serve to facilitate the professional advancement of Sri Lanka’s Foreign Policy and the conduct of its external relations. This would also expand the Foreign Policy community of Sri Lanka by establishing a consultative process with academics, professionals and other experts and set in motion an interactive dialogue on non – conventional aspects of Foreign Policy making. |

Zhang Dejiang, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China led a thirty member official delegation to Sri Lanka for a three day official visit from 10-12 June 2010 on an invitation extended by the Hon. Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne. He visited Pakistan before his arrival in Colombo. The Vice Premier and his delegation were warmly received at the airport by the Hon. The Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) organized a Roundtable Discussion titled “India –Sri Lanka Economic Relations” on 10th June 2010 in New Delhi on the occasion of the State Visit to India of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
