Minister of External Affairs, Prof. G. L. Peiris on a two day official visit to the Republic of Maldives PDF Print E-mail

Professor G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs left on the morning of Monday 5th July, 2010 on a two day official visit to the Republic of Maldives. During his stay, the Minister will call on President Mohamed Nasheed, while also meeting with other senior political and official personalities.

The travel of the Minister to Maldives is in the nature of a bilateral goodwill visit. It is expected that the Minister’s meetings and discussions in Male would provide him a firsthand briefing on the ways and means by which Sri Lanka’s close and friendly relationship with the neighbouring nation of Maldives, may be further strengthened.

Minister Peiris is accompanied on his visit to Maldives by Mr. Sajin Vass Gunawardena, M.P. and Co-ordinating Secretary to the President.
